Principal's News

Dear families

Staff news

At the end of this week, we will be saying farewell to Mr Robert Lee, Phys Ed teacher, and Mrs Kim Clark, Year 4, Room 7 teacher.

Farewell.jpg

Mr Lee has been a wonderful Phys Ed teacher who has taught the students the importance of playing fairly, encouraging each other and other teams and schools, and trying our best.  He has passed on his passion for dodgeball, netball and other team sports.  Mr Lee has done a fantastic job of fostering leadership skills in the faction captains.  It is very fitting that the school finished the Interschool Athletics Carnival as winners of the Handicap Shield at last week’s Carnival.

Mrs Clark has only been with us for a term.  She has been an asset to the Year 4 collaborative team generously sharing her expertise and experience with newly appointed teachers.  She has created a positive classroom environment talking to the students about growth mindset and starting each day ready to learn.  Lessons  have consistently been of the highest quality.  Mrs Clark has accepted a position at Madeley Primary School.

Mrs Helen Sweet, Art teacher, is returning to school next term.  I would like to thank Mrs Carmen Lindsay for her work in the Art room for the past four weeks.

Interschool Athletics Carnival

Last Thursday and Friday’s Interschool Athletics Carnival was a major event for the students and the staff.   Our students did the school and themselves immensely proud with their outstanding behaviour and competitiveness.  Our leader ball teams were especially sensational.

Congratulations to the students who were awarded Champions and Runner Up Champions:

Year 3 Runner Up Champion Laikyn - Room 4
Year 4 Runner Up Champion Neitana - Room 7
Year 4 Champion Jaxon - Room 8
Year 5 Runner Up Champion Chris - Room 13
Year 6 Runner Up Champion William - Room 11
Year 6 Runner Up Champion Milly - Room 11

The results were:

1st Currambine Primary School 728 points
2nd Joondalup Primary School 429 points
3rd  Connolly Primary School 314 points

The results of the Handicap Shield:

1st Joondalup Primary School 755 points
2nd Currambine Primary School 728 points
3rd  Connolly Primary School 653 points

A huge thank you to Mr Lee on a wonderful athletics carnival.  I appreciate the hours of work that went on behind the scenes to make this event possible.  Thank you also to Ms Farina and Mrs Perry for their work in helping to relocate the carnival at the last minute.

I would also like to thank the families who came to watch the events and for your quick response when the carnival venue changed.  Thank you for your support.

Happy holidays

It has been a busy term for everyone and included parent-teacher interviews, Science Week, Faction and Interschool Athletics Carnivals, and Book Week. I would like to acknowledge the tremendous effort of the staff throughout the term; their work is of the highest quality. I wish them a happy holiday.

To all of the children and families, have a wonderful holiday too.  Enjoy the warmer weather and spending time with friends and family.   If you are travelling, stay safe.
