Telethon Kids Institute
Over the last two weeks some of our classes have had the opportunity to visit the Telethon Kids Institute at Perth Children’s Hospital. The excursions aim to show students a glimpse into the workings of a scientific lab and how important STEM learning is to medical research. Thank you to Mrs Phillips for organising the excursions and all our wonderful Teachers, Education Assistants and Parents who helped make these excursions possible.
School Disco
The school Disco is tonight. I hope everyone has purchased their tickets, picked out their dancing clothes and polished their dancing shoes ready to have some fun bopping to the tunes of DJ Matt.
Junior Disco 5:30pm-7pm Senior Disco 7:30pm-9pm
Mindful May
This May classes have participated in a Mindful May challenge as part of the Mentally Healthy Schools Program. Classes have been encouraged to record the days they have completed a Mindful activity such as colouring in, reading, listening to music or going for a walk. These activities were recorded on a calendar and Room 18 was our winning Mindful May class. They received a story book, colouring in sheets, pens, sticky animals and some activity dice as a prize. Well done Room 18, but remember, we are all winners when we take a moment to be mindful.
Wet Weather
A reminder as the weather turns colder to label your child’s jumpers and jackets so that they can be easily returned if lost.
Cross Walk Wardens
The school is in talks with the Traffic Warden State Management Unit. Fortunately, they have advised that they are able to provide a Traffic Warden for the crossing located on Candlewood Boulevard near Jolstra Crescent from the 14th June, however they are experiencing a shortage of people willing to undertake a Traffic Warden role. If you know of anyone who has a few hours each morning and afternoon and would be willing to train to become a School Traffic Warden please have them ring 6274 8731 for more information.
Winter Carnival-Friday 18th June
Good luck to all students participating in next Friday's Winter Carnival. Permission notes need to be returned by Tuesday 15th June. Have fun and enjoy the day.
Connect
Connect is our School’s preferred method of communication between parents and teachers. Please make it a habit to see what your child’s teacher is posting about your child’s class, as you may miss important information.
As the school furthers its use of Connect as a communication platform, it is very important that families know how to access posts. Attached is a quick guide for parents to use as reference if you are unsure of how to use the site.
Contact the school if you can’t remember your P number and password as we are happy to help.
