Chaplain's Chat
On Friday 30th August we all participated in Wellness Day. I was fortunate enough to facilitate a session with Years 3-6 students on what makes them happy.
What does your family do for fun?
We all have such busy lives, with work and school, juggling homework, chores and schedules of extracurricular activities. Sometimes we forget to do things for FUN!
One of the best ways to connect as a family and to feel happy is to do things you enjoy together. We need to fill our own cups before we can effectively give to others.
What are some fun things you can come up with to do as a family?
Here are some examples the students came up with in their session:
- Family picnic (Even in the back yard)
- Go for a bike ride
- Go for a bush walk
- Fly a kite
- Go to the beach – even in winter it is so nice to rug up and go and collect shells
- Go ice-skating or roller-skating
- Go fishing (Even if you don’t catch anything)
- Look for frogs or tadpoles in the lake (This one is so fun)
- Go camping
This week, make a list as a family of some of the things you would like to do for FUN. Then try and tick one off your list every week. Have fun connecting!
