Student Musical Performance
Recently, our IMSS students showcased their musical talents in a performance for the Year 4 cohort, demonstrating the tremendous effort and dedication they’ve put into developing their skills in their instrument.
Our annual Carols by Candlelight concert is fast approaching on November 28, and students have been engaged in learning their songs and practising the accompanying choreography. Their dedication and enthusiasm in preparing for this event has been fantastic.

WASO Performance
In Week 4, our school hosted an incursion by the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO), featuring a performance by a strings ensemble. In preparation, students explored the different instrument families and the unique tone colours that each instrument brings to the orchestra. During the performance, the ensemble showcased a variety of musical techniques such as tremolo, glissando, and pizzicato. Additionally, they performed a variety of classical pieces such as In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg, which had students stomping along to the accelerating tempo and dynamics of the song. The group also performed various movie and television themes, including popular selections from Toy Story, Star Wars, Frozen, and the Bluey theme song. This incursion provided students with an inspiring opportunity to experience live orchestral music up close and interact with its unique sound. Thankyou WASO!
