Interschool Basketball

Recently, students competed in tryouts during lunch for the Interschool Basketball team. The Year 5 and 6 students have been selected to represent JPS and will compete at HBF arena on Thursday 5 September. Congratulations to all students that made the team. Previously, it has been a great day for all students involved.

Girls Cricket Clinic

Starting Thursday 29 August the all-girls cricket clinic will start. This will be held after school from 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm for the next four weeks. This will be hosted on the school oval by Cricket West and Mr Morrey. All parents of female students can register through the flyer by signing your child/ren up. It will be an excellent way to promote female participation and will have fun and exciting cricket related activities. All students that participate will receive a free participant pack.

Also, Joondalup-Kinross Cricket Club are hosting a registration night August 23 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Windemere Park, for both boys and girls. So if your child is interested, head down to sign up for the upcoming season.

Faction Carnival

All students have been training for the upcoming faction carnival. This year will see the introduction of the 400m and 200m race. These will be held on Monday 9 September along with Tug of War at Windemere Park. There will be two divisions in each year from Years 3 to 6, with 8 students competing in each race. Students have competed in time trials to qualify for this event.

Tuesday 10 September will be the Long Jump and Throw events. This will be for Years 3-6 students. The top 8 students will compete on the day. The students will get the opportunity to qualify during their Physical Education lessons.

The top 2 finishers in all of these events will qualify for the Interschool Athletics carnival, that will be hosted by East Wanneroo Primary School in Week 2 of term 4. Years 3 to 6 students will also get the opportunity to qualify for the Interschool team games in the upcoming weeks.

More information will be supplied in regard to the faction carnival on Friday 13 September through Compass.
