Circus Day

We did it! During terms 1 and 2, 103 917 class dojos were awarded and we celebrated with a fantastic Circus Day. The students played with diablos, spun plates, used hoola hoops and tossed rings with their classmates.

This reward day was part of our Positive Behaviour in Schools strategy. There are several key messages that underpin these events including:

  • Everyone has contributed to a ‘big’ reward.
  • If someone has a bad day, they can show the behaviour expectations the next day and be recognised; everyone deserves another chance.
  • Sometimes, rewards are worth the wait.

End of semester reports

Student reports will be emailed home on Wednesday 26 June 2024. Please make sure that the school has your current email address.

Years 3 - 5 Swimming Reminder

Swimming lessons for Year 3 - 5 students begin next Monday 17 June. If you have not done so already you need to complete the online consent and payment through Compass. This is due by Wednesday 12 June.

Parent-teacher interviews

Last year I sought feedback about parent-teacher interviews and, overwhelmingly, the opportunity to talk with your child’s teacher at a set time was valued. We also received feedback that suspending the school day at lunch time was difficult for families to manage.

Teacher feedback about interviews was positive as they like being able to meet with parents for a quick catch up.

On Monday 15 July we have a School Development Day and we are going to use from 11:00 am for parent-teacher interviews. A link to select a time will be sent out before the end of the term.

The purpose of the interview is to discuss your child’s overall progress. Interviews are set for 15 minutes, and you can meet more than one teacher over the course of the day.

If you regularly see your child’s teacher or have had recent meetings, you may elect to not come for an interview.

Mrs Thornton, Visual Art teacher, and Ibu Mulyana, Indonesian teacher, will also be available.

Wanneroo Regional Museum Excursion

As part of the Year 2 and 3 History studies, the students from Rooms 4,7 and 8 will be attending an excurison to the Wanneroo Regional Museum this Friday 14 June. All attending students must complete the online consent and payment through Compass which is due by Wednesday 12 June.

Congratulations

After seven years of working full-time and studying part-time, Ms Mel Hunt is now a qualified teacher. Ms Hunt has been a highly valved and committed education assistant at Joondalup Primary School for 20 years. For Terms 3 and 4 she will be working as a teacher at Roseworth Education Support Centre. Congratulations to Ms Hunt on her graduation and new teaching position.
